In the middle of the Middle East chaos, US President Donald Trump on Friday struck yet another strong tone against the hostile Iran regime and invoked a near-declaratory warning against what he called โderanged scumbagsโ. Referring to the American military’s massive operation against the Islamic Republic, he said Washington is carrying out strikes to โdestroy the terrorist regime of Iranโ militarily, economically and otherwise, while also taking a sharp jibe at the โfailingโ New York Times reports on war.Projecting confidence in the US militaryโs โunparalleledโ prowess and claiming sweeping success in the campaign against Tehranโs establishment, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to deliver a characteristically blunt message. In the post, he declared: โWe are totally destroying the terrorist regime of Iran, militarily, economically, and otherwise, yet, if you read the Failing New York Times, you would incorrectly think that we are not winning.โ Taking a jab at The New York Times, he added that Iranโs โNavy is gone, their Air Force is no longer,โ while its missiles, drones and other capabilities were being steadily โdecimated,โ with key leaders โwiped from the face of the earth.โStriking a triumphant tone while praising the American military, Trump also issued a stark warning to Iranโs power centres, hinting at possible further action under the countryโs new Khamenei leadership. โWe have unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time โ watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today,โ he wrote. He added: โTheyโve been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years, and now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them. What a great honour it is to do so!โMeanwhile, reports emerging from the ongoing Middle East conflict suggest that Iran may have attempted to strike the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. Tehran has also claimed responsibility for downing another US jet during a refuelling mission, though Washington has described the incident as an accident. Trump, who has long maintained a hardline stance against Iran, used the moment to double down on his warning to the Islamic Republicโs leadership.
