On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi will land in Israel around 4 pm (Indian standard time). This is Modi’s first visit to Israel since 2017, and he is expected to hold key discussions over bilateral trade, defence and security co-operation with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. The PM will also address the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, as the first Indian Prime Minister.
“The two leaders will review the significant progress made in the India – Israel Strategic Partnership, and discuss further opportunities in various areas of cooperation, including science and technology, innovation, defence and security, agriculture, water management, trade and economy, and people-to-people exchanges. The leaders are also expected to exchange perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest,” the External Affairs Ministry said.
The two leaders are also expected to hold key discussions over the prevailing conditions in Gaza, since the outbreak of the Israel-Iran conflict.
