Trump claimed Iran had opened fire in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a “total violation” of an existing ceasefire arrangement. He alleged that vessels linked to France and the United Kingdom were among those targeted, though no independent confirmation was immediately available.
“Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz — A Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement!” Trump wrote, adding: “Many of them were aimed at a French Ship, and a Freighter from the United Kingdom. That wasn’t nice, was it?”
The Strait remains one of the world’s most critical corridors, and any escalation in the narrow waterway carries global economic implications. Trump further claimed that Iran’s own actions were effectively reinforcing a US-led blockade, saying the closure of the passage was hurting Tehran more than Washington.
“They’re helping us without knowing, and they are the ones that lose with the closed passage, $500 Million Dollars a day!” he said.
TALKS IN ISLAMABAD
Amid rising tensions, Trump confirmed that US representatives are heading to Islamabad for negotiations. “My Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan — They will be there tomorrow evening, for Negotiations,” he said.
“Steve’s going to be going there tomorrow night,” Trump said in an interview with The New York Post. He also confirmed that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will land in Islamabad on Monday night.
However, the tone of the message quickly shifted from negotiation to outright threat. Trump warned that failure to accept what he described as a “fair and reasonable deal” would trigger a large-scale military response targeting Iran’s infrastructure.
“We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran,” he wrote.
